Xingwen Karst World Geopark

The limestone is widespread in the park. The special geographic position, the geological environment, and the climate conditions have made here a typical area with "Singwenensis" karst geomorphy. The park has kept the carbonate or acid stratum in different eras dating from 490-250 million years ago to present day. The stratum contains abundant paleontologic fossils of marine facies, and marks of deposit facies. The park is a natural museum for studying the contributing factor, and the evolution process of karst geomorphy, and is also an encyclopaedia on karst geosciences.

What to See (the Main Attractions)

The park is composed of four parts. They are Xiaoyanwan Area, Wangshan Area, Tai'an Stone Forest Area, and Lingxiaoshan Area.

There are rich geological remains and diverse landforms in the park. The scenery is beautiful, with long history and age-old culture. The caves are interlaced, and the natural pits are scattered all over like stars in the sky; the stones are in diverse patterns; the valleys are imposing; the waterfalls are elegant; and the lakes are waving with ripples. It's just like a perfect painting mixing the geological remains, the unique nationality history, and the colorful Miao Nationality's culture into an organic whole.
