Located in the northeast of the Guang-xi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guilin is a famous historical and cultural city of China, which is home to the Han people and over 10 ethnic minority groups, such as Zhuang, Hui, Miao, Yao and Dong. Guilin Cuisine is mellow in taste, and heavy in color. Local chefs are good at preparing spicy food by steaming and stewing, and usually prepare delicacies from mountains and land as main ingredients.

Guilin Rice Noodles
Rice noodles are the most popular snack of Guilin. There are many kinds of rice noodles, of which rice noodles with pot-stewed meat or fowl, and three-delicacy rice noodles are the most famous. The broth for rice noodles is made of over 10 kinds of ingredients, and bone broth is usually stewed on a low fire for several hours, with a delicious and mellow taste.
Guilin Duck Wrapped with Lotus Leaves
It is a traditional nutritious dish, which is prepared with a cleaned duck, dry lotus leaves, diced lean pork, diced bacon, tender green beans, small shrimps and other ingredients and seasonings. Stuff all the ingredients into the duck's belly, wrap it with lotus leaves and steam the duck until it is well done.
Local Snacks: Guilin rice noodles, water cibo (glutinous rice cakes), Guilin zongzi (a pyramid-shaped dumpling made of glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo leaves), glutinous rice, Guilin river snails, rice bean curd, steamed water chestnuts and meat cakes, steaks, and so on.
