Crossing the spectacular landscape of Dunhuang, this program takes you along the northern arm of the Silk Road to the area of Turfan, noted for several archaeological sites which you will visit before travelling further west in Xinjiang.

Day 1: Arrival/Beijing
Airport to Hotel Transfer (Beijing)
Arrive in Beijing, our local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure.
Day 2: Beijing (B L)
Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace
The first stop today is Tian'anmen Square - the largest city square in the world. Then walk into the Forbidden City (UNESCO), the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing Dynasty, to explore its many fascinating halls and pavilions. Afterwards, visit the elegant Summer Palace (UNESCO), the largest imperial garden in the world.
Day 3: Beijing (B L SD)
Great Wall Badaling, Ming Tomb, Bird's Nest, Water Cube, Quanjude Roasted Duck
This morning you will be taken to Great Wall Badaling (UNESCO), the site of the most visited section of the Great Wall of China. Then approach to the Ming Tomb, the burial grounds of the Ming dynasty who ruled China from 1368 to 1644. On the way back to the city, take an outside tour to Olympic Stadium, nicknamed Birds Nest and the National Swimming Centre, also known as the Water Cube. Dinner is served at the genuine Quanjude Peking Roast Duck Restaurant.
Day 4: Beijing/Luoyang (B L)
Temple of Heaven, Hutong Tour by rickshaw, Nanluoguxiang, Hotel to Train Station Transfer (Beijing)
This morning visit another renowned imperial site - the Temple of Heaven (UNESCO), where ancient emperor worshipped God and prayed for harvest. Then take a Hutong Tour by rickshaw to experience the Chinese traditional life style. Afterwards, visit Nanluoguxiang, one of the best preserved historical areas of downtown Beijing, is a great place to chill and enjoy the surrounding architecture. Transfer to take an overnight train to Luoyang.
Day 5: Luoyang (L)
Train Station to Hotel Transfer (Luoyang), Longmen Cave, White Horse Temple
Upon arrival in the morning, you will firstly go to visit the Longmen Cave (UNESCO), one of the three most important Buddhist sculptures and carvings in China. Then visit the White Horse Temple, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in China and is renowned as the cradle of Chinese Buddhism.
Day 6: Luoyang/Xi'an (B L)
Shaolin Temple, Train Station to Hotel Transfer (Xi'an), Train Station to Hotel Transfer(Xi'an)
It takes you about 3 hours to the Shaolin Temple by private car, which is reputed to be 'the Number One Temple under Heaven'. The temple is the cradle of the Chinese Zen Buddhism and the Shaolin Martial Arts such as Shaolin Cudgel. Transfer to take a train to Xi'an. Upon arrival, met and transferred to the hotel.
Day 7: Xi'an (B L SD)
Museum of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Ancient City Wall, Tang Dynasty Dinner Show
Visit the Museum of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses (UNESCO), the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. Then head to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which is an important cultural relic and one of the remaining symbols of ancient Xi'an. Afterwards, visit the Ancient City Wall, the most complete one that survived in China.In the evening, enjoy the marvelous Tang Dynasty Dinner Show - a must when you visit Xi’an.
Day 8: Xi'an/Dunhuang (B L)
Shaanxi History Museum, Hotel to Airport Transfer (Xi'an), Airport to Hotel Transfer(Dunhuang)
Visit the Shaanxi History Museum, a large-scale national comprehensive museum in Xi’an, where you will discover how Xi'an became the cradle of Chinese culture. And then fly to Dunhuang. On arrival, met and transferred to the hotel.
Day 9: Dunhuang/Turpan (B L D)
Mogao Grottoes, Crescent Moon Lake, Sand Singing Dune, Camel Ride, Hotel to Train Station Transfer(Dunhuang)
Visit the World Heritage Site - Mogao Grottoes (UNECO), which is the world's most important site of ancient Buddhist Culture. Then drive back and visit the Crescent Moon Lake and Sand Singing Dune. Ride a camel and enjoy the marvelous sunset. Take an overnight train to Turpan.
Day 10: Turpan (B L D)
Train Station to Hotel Transfer(Turpan), Ruins of Gaochang, Astana Tombs, Bazelik Thousand Buddha Caves, Grape Valley
Arrive in Turpan - the lowest depression of China, pick up and transfer to hotel, have breakfast at hotel. Visit the Ruins of Gaochang, an extensive ruin since the Tang Dynasty and an ancient Chinese garrison town on the silk road 1st century AD. Then approach the Astana Tombs - known as “The Underground Museum” and highly regarded by Chinese and foreign archaeologists and historians. Afterwards, visit the Bazelik Thousand Buddha Caves which is located in a gorgereous valley of Flaming Mountain and the Grape Valley - where one can enjoy a world of unique beauty contrasting strikingly with the hot ,dry and barren surrounding landscape.
Day 11: Turpan/Urumqi (B L)
Karez System, Nanshan Grassland,
After breakfast , visit the Karez System - an underground transmission and irrigation system and is considerd to be one of the three great ancient projects of China. After lunch, excursion 70km Southwest to one of the eight major deep valleys and passage ways along the whole Tianshan (heavenly) Mountain – Nanshan Grassland,where you will visit the minority families of Kazak and chat with them in their yurts while drink strong milk tea & home-made snacks.
Day 12: Urumqi/Kashgar (B L)
Heavenly Lake, Provincial Museum, Red Hill Park, Bazaar, Hotel to Airpoer Transfer(Urumqi), Airport to Hotel Transfer(Kashgar)
Today, drive 120 km northeast to Heavenly Lake, (one of the ten big natural scenic spots of China) with an elevation of 2000 meters above sea level.Cruise on the lake and take a golf car around the lake. Then return to the city and visit the Provincial Museum to view the incredible mummies from over 2000 years ago incredible mummies over 2000 years ago, which tell us unwritten history. If time is available, visit the Red Hill Park and take golf car around the park and then visit Bazaar, which is believed to be the largest outdoor market in province. Take the flight to Kashgar.
Day 13:Kashgar/Urumqi (B L)
Sunday Morning Moslems Pray, Sunday Bazaar, Mosque, Tomb of Fragrant Concubine, Old Town
Visit Sunday Morning Moslems Pray, it is incredible that thousands of all Muslims kneel down on the streets and the squares facing to the Mosque. Then visit the Sunday Bazaar, which is the largest outdoor marke in the Mid-Asia. Afterwards, head to Mosque and the Tomb of Fragrant Concubine and the Old Town of Kashgar in the afternoon. The old town will bring you thousand years afar back to a paramilitary age. At night take flight to Urumqi.
Day 14: Urumqi/Shanghai (B)
Hotel to Airport Transfer (Urumqi), Airport to Hotel Transfer (Shanghai)
Leisure and fly to Shanghai. On arrival, transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure.
Day 15: Shanghai (B L D)
Yu Garden, Jade Buddha Temple, Bund, Huangpu River Cruise, Acrobatic Show
This morning, visit Yu Garden (UNESCO), which is a famous ancient private garden with architectures of Ming and Qing dynasties. Then head to the Jade Buddha Temple where two rare jade statues of Sakyamuni Buddha are treasured. Continue to visit the Bund - Shanghai's famous riverfront and have a short cruise on Huangpu River which is one of the best ways to see both old and new Shanghai. In the evening enjoy a spectacular Acrobatic Show for your entertainment, which is one of the most famous performance arts in China.
Day 16: Shanghai/Departure (B)
Hotel to Airport Transfer (Shanghai)
Transfer to the airport for departure. Service ends.
